Good Eats
I'm really glad that Amara's back and that we've been able to spend some quality time together. Some of what we've enjoyed since she returned to Portland earlier this week is good food. On Sunday, we went to Newport Bay Restaurant and had a delicious time. We started with some turkey curry soup, and then she had the cedar plank salmon served over a cheesy risotto and I had the crab fettucine in a garlic and white wine sauce.
Yesterday, we happened upon a cute little restaurant called the Three Square Grill in a shopping mall near where Amara lives. From the outside, the restaurant was very understated and unassuming. But once we went inside, it was quite bustling (especially for a Tuesday evening at 7:30pm), and the food turned out to be quite tasty. We started with some crab cakes, and then she had a fancy salad while I had a roast beef hash (yes I know.. breakfast food for dinner? why not!).
Food is so good. I just went grocery shopping today and have the ingredients for a couple of savory meal ideas all ready to go for the coming week. Yum-may!
