In the rich man’s world OK, so I don't really believe that money would make life funnier or sunnier, but it is good to get and great to spend. I signed up for a couple of offers recently that should be providing me with some "free" (because nothing in the world is truly free) money. One was from Wells Fargo Bank, which is having a promotional offer up here to give people a $75 bonus for opening up a checking account. Another one was from MBNA to open a Charles Schwab credit card account and get a free $100 Visa debit card.
Ironically, as fast as money comes in (or not even, in this case), it's even faster to go out (I've essentially already spent it). What did I get? Something nice (and probably illegal to use while driving) for the car trips up/down the West coast: Initial 7" portable DVD player with DivX playback
It matches the black cubby hole in the center console of my Camry (I just hope it fits)
With my large collection of media (movies and tv shows) in DivX format on CD-Rs, this seems like the perfect way to access/enjoy them on the go. Considering how much time I can spend watching tv, having tv-like content would make it possible for me to drive super long distances with no problem. Exciting!
