Hold On
Some day somebody’s gonna make you want to Turn around and say goodbye Until then baby are you going to let them Hold you down and make you cry Don’t you know? Don’t you know things can change Things’ll go your way If you hold on for one more day Over the years, I've developed an increasing ability to resist the urge to urinate and just hold on for a longer period of time before having to go. Whether it's due to an increase in bladder size, a reduction in sensitivity of the nerves, or simply an enhanced willpower, it's something that has proven useful. Like when I wake up early in the morning (before my alarm has even gone off) and need to use the bathroom. I'm deterred from getting out of bed and going because my bed is so comfortable and it's super cold in my apartment. Now, I can just wait the extra hour or two until the time of morning preparations arrives. This also comes in handy with driving long distances because less bathroom breaks equals a shorter trip time. The only problem is the little idea that holding it in is not good for you. Especially with what we're learning about kidney function, I have a feeling that if I extend my urinating intervals too long that I'll develop some form of post-renal obstructive uropathy. Now, that would be a bummer.
