Delightful Weekend
Lately, I've been slow to post about things going on. Following in the trend of a 4-day delay, here's a bit about what happened over the weekend..
Bay Area Bowl
On Friday night, the youngest of the Chien men (used to be boys, but we're all grown up now) picked me up from the airport. My first stop in the Bay Area? Yoshinoya.. large beef bowl, baby. Mmm mmm good!
Card Sharp
While staying at Jerm's house in Union City, we played a lot of poker over the weekend. Most of the time, it was $1 buy-in no limits Texas Hold 'Em. Even though I got some good hands in, I never came out on top. That's alright because it was more about the fun anyway. The best laughs were had when we played Indian Poker. If you haven't played before, it's definitely worth a go, especially late into the night and people are already tired..
'Til there was you Then there was music and wonderful roses
On Saturday afternoon and evening, I attended the ceremony and reception for Dan & Linda's joyous union. Congrats to the couple! The venue was excellent, with the ceremony taking place on the golf course of a country club in San Ramon. Despite the heat, it was beautiful. Although some people didn't have as positive an experience, apparently I got lucky and my piece of prime rib (plus the half piece I snagged from Pocahontas) was delicious.

Indulgent
For Mr. Freeze's birthday, Wenge and I headed over to the Peninsula for dinner with Superman, Oregon Duck (plus sis), Pocahontas, JTSnow, and GQ. We went to a pretty new Asian buffet place very close to where I used to live called Indulge. I thought the hot foods were just okay, but the selection of sushi was quite good. I loaded up and got my money's worth. Food and friends.. a hard combination to beat.
