Tues-late Post

Españglés

On Friday, I watched the movie Spanglish with Oregon Duck at the cheap theater (only $1.50!). While the ending was somewhat disappointing, I liked the movie overall. Most pleasant was the endearing onscreen presence of Paz Vega, who plays the non-English speaking housekeeper, beautifully named Flor.

Besides being quite the looker, her character was passionate, strong-willed, and funny. Makes me glad I know some Spanish..

HIPP-hOp

Remember this game? Hungry Hungry Hippos!

It was super fun not only because it was action-packed, but also because it mimicked a very enjoyable activity (eating). As a kid, we used to fight over who got to use the yellow hippo (apparently, he's named "Harry Hippo".. I don't remember them having name stickers before) because with our Hungry Hungry Hippos game, the different hippos weren't all created equal. The yellow one had a slight advantage because his chomping action got a little higher than the other hippos, allowing him to gobble more 2-marble (as opposed to 1-marble) bites successfully. Anyway, now you can get this game for just $9.99 at Amazon.com.. what a steal!

Spring Break

It's nice to be back in the state of California. It's not the California coast or the California weather which I appreciate most, but it's the people. The familiarity and friendships with cool and fun folks. Getting to meet up for food, enjoying some tv shows, making fun of a bad movie.. it's all good. Thanks to everyone who has taken time out of their schedules to hang out with me. And now, I'm back in San Diego where relaxation will reign since responsibilities are far from sight. (At least for the next 4 days.)
