Irony
Not only is it the incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs, it also happens to describe the story of my life. Being short and not particularly noteworthy, the recount of my life isn't going to be winning any contests. Still though, many times I find it to be noticeably surprising and amusingly strange what happens. Despite the relative uneventful nature of 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds out of the day, all it takes is a single second - nay a mere fraction of a second - for a moment of observation to turn into cognizance and a realization of how things "actually" are different (incongruous, if you will) than what you might "expect." This begs the question, is it reality that is skewed, or does the fault lay with our expectations? For me, it's probably the latter. Anyway, that's all.
