Neither Here or There
The presidential election votes are quite even.. it's too close to tell right now. We'll see how this turns out..
Remember Knight Rider? It's that 80's show featuring K.I.T.T. (the Knight Industries Two Thousand, a talking car with special features) and starring David Hasselhoff. When I was a kid, I used to turn the handlebars of my small BMX bike (it happened to be black, just like K.I.T.T.) backwards to mimic the upside-down look of K.I.T.T.'s steering wheel. As it turns out, some software company has made a pretty good video game based on the show. I was playing it a little bit earlier this afternoon, and it was rather fun. Unfortunately, Bonnie wasn't as pretty as I remember her..
Dr. David Stevens, author of "Jesus, M.D." and the Executive Director of the Christian Medical and Dental Association, gave a talk today about stem cell research. Most people aren't clear about the distinction between adult stem cell research versus embryonic stem cell research. Generally, controversy only surrounds the use and research of embryonic stem cells. During his presentation, Dr. Stevens emphasized the benefits of adult stem cell research, something that is commonly overlooked in light of the hype surrounding embryonic stem cell research. So far, embryonic stem cell research has generated no cures, and there are multiple disadvantages to their use. On the other hand, adult stem cell research has already demonstrated several applications, and current results show favorable potential for the future.
For dinner tonight, I had Arby's 5 regular roast beef sandwiches for $5.95. Not quite the value that 5 for $5 used to be, but still good nonetheless. They even threw in some curly fries for just a buck more. I only ate three of the sandwiches, since I'm saving the other two for lunch tomorrow.
