Weekend Trip
I took a mini-vacation this weekend and headed off to two touristy areas with some college buddies: Crater Lake (located in southern Oregon) and Multnomah Falls (located northeast of Portland) for sight-seeing and hiking. We drove out on Friday night, stayed overnight at a Motel 6 in Medford, and then went off to the lake on Saturday morning.
Here are some broader view pictures I took at various points around the lake:
Here are some pictures taken during the hikes. The first hike I took was down to the shore of the lake. Paul and I at the trailhead to Cleetwood Cove (top left). Me at the dock of the lake (top right). Toying with a chipmunk with beef sticks containing, among all other random things, beef hearts (bottom left). View to the parking lot 1.7 miles away downhill from the top of Garfield Peak (bottom middle-left). View of the top of Garfield Peak where we hiked up to (bottom middle-right). Me at the top of Garfield Peak with an excellent view of the lake (bottom right).
Today, after church, I headed off to Multnomah Falls via the historic Columbia River Highway. At the base of the falls with Rodney (left), with arrow indicating the top of the falls where we hiked up to. A view to the Columbia River on the way to the top (middle top). After reaching the top, a pic of me with some falls (middle bottom). A nice view of the falls through the trees (right).
For the rest of the pictures, you can check out the Imagestation album here: Weekend Trip Pictures.
