Friends
And a friend's a friend forever,
If the Lord's the Lord of them,
And a friend will not say never,
'Cause the welcome will not end,
Though it's hard to let you go,
In the Father's hands we know,
That a lifetime's not too long,
To live as friends.
First I must say that I am truly blessed. Blessed in so many ways that it's almost as unfathomable as the riches of Christ. Friends are how God takes care of us, and "taken cared of" doesn't really even come close to capturing the love I've had the joy of experiencing. My spiritual family, the community of saints, the body of believers.. whatever you want to call them.. I'm very encouraged and touched by the wonderful gesture of gathering to send me off. I was thoroughly surprised, even though my expression may not have shown it (I seem to be good at hiding my thoughts). Thanks to everybody who came out, demonstrating such thoughtfulness and caring and generosity. At the moment, I am both excited and sad, with some of the sadness starting to take over, about leaving the Bay Area. God has been so good to me..
