Mountain Man
There seem to be a lot of products on the market these days that capitalize on the concept of mountains. Admittedly, I am a fan of such products. For example, I find Mountain Dew (and all of its store-brand knockoffs like Mountain Breeze and Mountain Lightning) to be quite a refreshing and delicious beverage. (Sierra Mist, on the other hand, has quality commercials, but definitely doesn't match up in terms of taste.. I think it's because they named it after a particular set of mountains - the Sierras - which is a weak-sauce mountain range to begin with.) Coming back from the LSF Retreat (located in the Santa Cruz mountains), I had to do a bunch of laundry. Going along with the mountain theme, I happen to use "Mountain Spring" Tide as my detergent. But how about for fabric softener (which is a NECESSARY component of the laundry process, despite being often bypassed)? I actually went with "Sunkissed Breeze" Snuggle (who wouldn't want their clothes to be as soft as a "snuggly" teddy bear?). Arguably, it's not a mountain-based scent (and shouldn't be mentioned in this post, but it goes along with the whole laundry story). To understand my choice, you have to picture a guy (me) standing at Walmart for more than 5 minutes, taking whiffs of all of the fabric softeners in order to pick the scent that was just right. Compared to scent, price was not an object. Fortunately, Snuggle happened to be one of the cheaper ones. Anyway, my clothes are clean and fresh now.
On an unrelated note, Sizzler is a quality restaurant. Good food for not a lot of money (thanks for dinner, Superman!). I like that.
Another random thought is about how unclean (physically, not spiritually.. silly readers, spirits are for people! just like trix are for kids and not silly rabbits) my car is. The dustiness makes my car look beige, and not the silver that it's supposed to be. I think I will have it washed this week.
