Immunity
A couple of nights ago I almost got sick. Almost. I'm like that consul who almost gets away with murder in Lethal Weapon 2. I have what he has. Oh wait, that's diplomatic immunity (or as the German? consul says in the movie, "di-plo-mat-ic immune-ity"). What I have is symptomatic immunity. Anyway, all I know is that I fell asleep (unintentionally) pretty early that night, pre-9pm, on top of my bed with no blankets. I woke up around midnight feeling really cold (my apartment gets plenty frigid at night), with a stuffed up nose and a slightly itchy throat. I thought I was coming down with something. So, I took a shower and went back to bed, but this time, actually climbing UNDER my covers (the shower was a necessary prerequisite for that to happen). The nice thing was when I woke up in the morning, I was all good. A mixed blessing.. I don't have to bother with the burden of being sick, but then I haven't been able to take advantage of my ever-growing balance of sick days.
On a different note, I must've run close to 3 miles yesterday on this new path I chose to take along this road next to the waterfront. Not too shabby considering I haven't run in a month or so. It helps that I run at night (post-10pm) when the air is cooler and the streets are nice and quiet. Overall, my home life yesterday was more productive than usual. I read (or rather, skimmed through and selectively read articles) from 2 issues of Time, 2 issues of Maxim, and 1 issue of Stuff. I also worked out a bit on my Total Body Works 5000 before going running.
OK, time for me to get back to work (i.e. kill a mouse, dissect out his brain, and run an experiment on the brain tissue). Only 2.5 more months of this.. yay!
