As Of Late
Snowday
Went to Alpine Meadows with a couple LSF brothers and some Crossroaders last Saturday. Had a good day of snowboarding.. it was my second time, and I think I'm getting the hang of it. Even so, I don't see it as being *that* fun to me (but neither is skiing). I fell a lot less and am able to tackle blues no problem now. Black diamond courses are still a stretch to me. The highlight of the day was not having to buy lunch because there were tents set-up, giving away free stuff. I had a three mini-sized peanut butter Balance bars and a couple of Dannon yogurt-based smoothies. Looking for a place to eat, we eventually found a Mexican restaurant where the food ended up being pretty tasty and wasn't too expensive. Driving back, some of cars were blazing through the mountains. Wasn't the safest thing, so I'm glad that we were fortunate not to have been in an accident or pulled over.
The Sound of Silence
Sadly, my 20gb MP3 player is currently dead. I'm not sure what's wrong with it, but it's not working. Therefore, I've been forced to go back to using my O-G, 32mb Rio PMP300 (to my knowledge, it was the first commercially available mp3 player!). To fit more songs on it, I've re-encoded my songs to be 64kbps (which makes smaller file sizes at the cost of sound quality). Some of my current favorites right now include:
Maroon 5 - This Love
Evanescence - My Immortal
Matchbox 20 - Bright Lights
Bleh
A friend recently shared how they were feeling "bleh." I totally understand that.. sometimes things just don't seem to be very impactful and/or you don't feel like dealing with stuff. I've felt a bit of that during the week, too. You're not alone!
Noodles (x2)
I picked up some packs of Noodle King at Marina Foods recently to find that their packaging had changed. Besides having lots of good flavors including beef (typical), wonton (not as common), and lobster (the best!), I was pleasantly surprised to find that they doubled the amount of noodles inside! The slogan for Nissin brand Top Ramen is "Oodles of Noodles." Clearly, they've never seen the likes of the Noodle King.
Auto-nomy
While I'm not in the market to buy a car, I've spent a good amount of time on Ebay Motors website. Saw some pretty good deals, but it's not like I could afford another car or something. However, I know of a couple people who are looking for cars. Danny, for example, is looking to get a Karmann-Ghia. Like most people, I didn't know what a Karmann-Ghia was until Danny told me. He's actually looking to buy one. For those who don't know, it's a classic Volkswagen car from the 60s. Pretty cute, although, I'm not big fan of "classic" cars. Unfortunately, I gravitate more towards pricier cars seeing that my taste is more suited towards newer/faster cars.
Double Feature
Too bad we don't have drive-in movie theaters anymore. The concept is quite neat to me.. Last night, I spent a while at the Chesapeake Manor watching some movies. Boyz N The Hood and Radio. Both movies starred Cuba Gooding, Jr. We stayed up pretty late watching, but I think it was worth it.
