An Open Door
I believe that God works sometimes by opening and closing doors. For me, the prospect of going to med school has been a closed door until now. When I got home from work yesterday, I found a large envelope from Drexel University College of Medicine in the mail. I didn't hesitate to look inside as I opened it while walking back to my apartment. Lo and behold, I was granted admissions to be a first-year student in the Fall 2004 entering class. Praise God! This is the first medical school acceptance letter I have received, but hopefully, not the last. I am still waiting to hear back from the other places I interviewed at: UC Davis, Oregon Health and Science University, and New York Medical College. During the application process, I have been blessed with the support of many brothers, sisters, and friends. I appreciate the prayer and encouragement by those around me. At the moment, I am filled with a tentative excitement. Six months from now, my life will be very different. A new chapter will have begun, and I hope to make the best of it by living out a life of love, wherever I end up.
