"Potpourri" Post
Merry New Year!
The New Year's Eve holiday is a strange one in that unlike any other holiday, New Year's doesn't actually commemorate any particular person or thing. Rather, it is just a celebration of the passing of time. It almost seems arbitrary that it happens to be between December 31 and January 1. Considering that time is always passing, we might as well be celebrating everyday.
Fun Fun!
Since getting back on the 30th, I've had the chance to spend some quality time hanging out with friends. New Year's Eve featured a fabulous dinner prepared by Mr. Razzle-Dazzle, some Texas Hold 'Em, Cranium (Dkcwenge and Pocahontas were in the lead when we stopped), and a view of fireworks shows from the rooftop. Yesterday, a group of us gathered again and played some Cranium (guys unfortunately lost to the girls.. a death by two "humdingers"), went ice-skating (I have this fat blister on my right foot), had dinner (Gum Kuo in Oakland Chinatown, a restaurant where Cynopsis can order in the native tongue), and then karaoked the night away (song highlights included Crazy in Love, My Heart Will Go On, All That Jazz, Invisible Man, and many more).

The Camry's back in action. After picking it up yesterday, it ended up having one more minor problem that was resolved today. Hopefully, nothing else will turn up.

I have a beat-up old pair of Vans that I wear pretty often. I originally bought them in 1998 at a Sportmart in San Diego. Fast forward to the present.. it's now 2004, and they've changed up the style so I can't even go about replacing them. JTsnow was kind enough to call me up from LA today because his friend can get Vans for 50% off and he was wondering if I was interested. And although I was, the fact that I can't get my original single-tone, smoke-colored Vans Graph skate shoes made me decline the offer. Since I've recently upgraded/replaced my Rockports and Nikes, I should probably just be less picky about the shoes that will take the place of my Vans.
Laundromat
Spent the evening doing various loads of laundry. Whites, 2 sets of colors, and my 2 comforters. Five loads in all. I'm glad that we have a washer/dryer in house. I've definitely pulled out enough lint from the dryer screen to make myself a shirt, or perhaps some thick socks.
Frigid-air
Apparently there is a cold front moving in towards California. Record lows supposed to be happening tonight, with the possibility of freezing overnight! I need to get me a pair of pajamas or sweats because I still walk around in an undershirt and shorts in the apartment, but the cold is starting to get to me..
