Life in SD

Brrr - *clap* *clap* *stomp* - it's cold in here.. there must be some Yobos in the atmosphere!

It really is cold in my house at night, even more so than my apartment in Redwood City because of the sheer size and the number of windows that allows more cold to come in. The way I can tell how cold I was at night is to check my abs (abdominal muscles) in the morning to see how "cut" they look. Assuming it was really cold, I would've likely been flexing a good amount of the evening and thus, have more definition in my abs. Being at home, just take off my shirt and give me some raggedy pair of shorts and I'm ready to go as an Abercrombie model.

Don't stop, don't stop the feet/Won't stop, won't stop the beat/and GO

A group of some high school friends and I went out to a nice lounge last night in downtown SD. The main attributes of being called "nice" refer to the fact that 1) it wasn't too crowded, and 2) the music was pretty good. I had the chance of sampling all kinds of drinks that other people ordered. Not exactly proud to say this, but the taste of alcohol in drinks no longer bothers me. I mean, I can still taste it if I take shots straight up, but otherwise, the taste is usually masked pretty well by cocktails and the like. Don't worry, I am not in need of a 12-step program. Just another one of those "bad things" I turn out to be good at (I used to/still in some ways do think that I am qualified to do well in crime, although I never would because that's wrong), and not exactly proud to say (for some of the other things, you'll have to talk to me in person). Jenn somehow managed to get a discount on her tab.. it was supposed to be something like $27, but she only had to pay $13 because they messed up on her bill at first. Before the night was over, though, we did get a chance to dance a bit and just lounge around. A couple of people ended up having more than they could handle (but not by much), so they were quite out of it and tired. Fortunately, all of us guys there had not been drinking as much and were sharp as fiddles.

AFI's Top Picks

Like a lot of people during the break, I have also watched a few movies. My sister has started this habit of collecting DVDs. So when I go home, the stack of DVDs that rests on top of our tv (it's really kinda tacky looking.. it should get us a DVD shelf or something) just keeps getting taller. So far, I've watched X2, the Usual Suspects, and Airplane! this break. The sticker on the Airplane! DVD said it was one of the Top 10 funniest movies. Seeing such a claim, my brother and I had to confirm it by going to their website, and indeed, it ended up being Number 10 on the Top 10 list.

The More You Know

We only have basic cable service at home. This means that I don't have very much to watch on TV usually. Consequently, I resorted to doing some minor reading. Besides online content (news, blogs, and such), with the coming quarter in LSF, I decided to read the two letters of Peter in the Bible. It'll be good since that's what we'll be covering for Bible study. I'm still debating whether to read some novels, too.

Like A Child

Coming home, my mom still treats me like a kid. Makes sense, because to her, I am. And though she'll always have 27 years more experience than I do, I believe that her experiences and my experiences are very different. My mom still believes that if it's cold outside and you don't wear a jacket, you'll get sick. She also questions me on various choices/decisions I made in terms of my car and how I choose to live. It's just tough sometimes to have to listen to someone being critical, especially when it's a parent.
