Christmas-time

I woke up feeling kinda sick.. I had phlegm in my throat and my head was all hot and I felt all fatigued. I don't have so much of the other symptoms anymore, but I do still feel fatigued. It's not a sleepiness, but more just that I am exhausted and need to lay down. Plus, my upper body is sore in different places from working out.

I went to work this morning with not too much to do. After I had finished going over some stuff with my boss, she was very nice and said that I could just go home if I had nothing else for today.

Afterwards, I went to lunch with JT, Superman, Pocahontas, and HelloKitty at the Japanese buffet restaurant Masu in San Mateo. It was a good meal. But it only added to my tiredness..

The three of us (JT, HelloKitty, and I) then went off to the mall to get some truly last minute shopping done. I managed to find suitable gifts for 3 out of 4 members of my family. The 4th, my brother, will have to make do with just picking his own gift and having me pay for it (we've done that before, because he doesn't have a credit card, so he thinks it's cool when I can buy stuff online for him).

It really doesn't feel like Christmas-time this year. Perhaps it's where I am physically (not with my family.. at least not yet) and where I am emotionally. Usually this is a time of reflection and thanksgiving and stuff. Lately, I've just felt a bit beaten down and tossed around. Doesn't exactly leave me in the holiday spirit.

However, there have been some really kind acts imparted on me by various people in my life. And for that, I am truly thankful. Whether it was offering me a ride or just calling me up to talk, it's been cool.

I will be driving home tonight.. what a way to spend Christmas Eve.. I pray that the roads will be clear and that the loaner car I have will be reliable and that my mind will be sharp.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

"Oh holy night!
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior's birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary soul rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!

Fall on your knees
Oh hear the angel voices
Oh night divine
Oh holy night when Christ was born
Oh night divine
Oh holy night when christ was born"
