(Mini) Eating Feast

In response to our mutual hunger yesterday, Eileen and I got together to have a nice home-cooked meal. Our first stop was to pick up the ingredients from the only Asian grocer in our area, Marina Foods. Eileen had always told me it was "ghett-o," but I didn't fully understand until I got inside. By "ghetto" she meant "dirty," and indeed, it was quite yuh. The plan for dinner was to make the following:

1) Garlic and pepper pork chops
2) Chicken and corn chowderre
3) Fried tofu

(All served over steamed rice, of course.)

I made the chowder, Eileen made the tofu, and we both worked on the pork chops. We cooked up a storm! It only took a mere 2 hours from when I picked her up to when we started eating (I'm being sarcastic if you can't tell.. we were SO hungry by the time we were ready to eat). In terms of portions, we were both able to stuff ourselves and there was still plenty left over.

To follow up on yesterday night's scrumptious eats, today my co-worker and I split a 9-piece meal from KFC. Now, that's a lot of food for just two people to consume. The 9-piece meal came with 9 pieces of chicken (well, duh), 4 biscuits, and 2 large sides (naturally, we chose mashed potatoes and cole slaw). We didn't even finish, and as of now, the leftovers are sitting the fridge here at the Institute. Perhaps I'll grab some to eat later, but probably not. Somehow, this Diet Coke I've been drinking for the past half hour has robbed me of my appetite. It's 6:30pm (roughly my normal dinner-time), and yet I'm not hungry at all. Weird..
