What Drives You?
I need to win the lottery. I was calculating my finances on a spreadsheet yesterday, and it appears that my bills are gradually overpowering the income. It's only a matter of time before I start going negative! Steps to take: 1) no more personal purchases (I'll probably be wearing the same clothes/shoes for years to come) 2) milk and cereal for dinner (provides nutrition at a net cost of only a dollar or two per meal!).
On a totally unrelated note.. another really cool song from the "All About Love" album is "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)." It's a remake of the song by the Proclaimers, with minor changes (mainly the verse about getting drunk was nixed). I listened to this song (with repeat track mode on) for over an hour yesterday while sectioning brain tissue. It's almost like brainwashing myself. If you aren't familiar, the theme of the song is summarized well in the chorus:
But I would walk 500 miles,
And I would walk 500 more,
Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles,
To fall down at your door..
Although I've never walked 500 miles (or a thousand, round-trip), I have, Interestingly enough, been in my car driving that distance for a girl (twice, actually). That would drive most people crazy. I guess you could say I was quite driven.
