Sunday Sh-illin'

Sunday was long, but cool. Getting up early to serve on worship team at CFC was followed by leading a Sunday School class on faith. I have a poor retention ratio.. all but one of my students was different from last week to this week. But still, I think it went OK. Thanks to Amy, Vicky, Carson, David, and Apple for participating! =)

It's been LSF's month for the lunch rotation (meaning we set-up for, serve, and clean-up after lunch at church). June is a long month. It's also been my month at work to do "wipe tests" of our radioactive room (just to make sure that stuff isn't getting contaminated.. wouldn't want any of that gamma radiation to make me go Hulk on all of you). Just one more week (for both lunch rotation and wipe testing)..

We left church for lunch at around 1:00pm. We went to Cindy's favorite place, Chipotle (Chia likes it a lot, too). The burritos were big and filling, but personally, I like going for Mexican food places where the burritos are pure meat (which exist primarily in So Cal.. but Taco Bell is pretty decent). At one point, I tricked Chia into thinking I got him the wrong drink refill. "You wanted Mr. Pibb, right?" (he had asked for Diet Pepsi).. the look of confusion on his face was PRICELESS (especially since I had asked him twice just to clarify what drink he wanted)!

After lunch, Cindy, Frances, Jonathan and I went to the Bay St. Faire, a lively event at the Bay St. shopping area in Emeryville. Not only did they have booths filled with random trinkets and obscure foods (like a honey dealer and various dipping sauce vendors), but there was live music, too. The girl singing Lady Marmalade was alright, but I think Frances should've gotten up there and belted her stuff. Spent a good amount of time just walking around stores (including Barnes and Noble, where there was a proliferation of books dealing with dating/relationships, despite it being far from Valentine's Day).

When we got back to Frances' place, we met up with Eileen and just chilled there for a while. Cindy gave me a superb massage (thanks!). We stayed there for a little while, but eventually decided to go to SF. First stop: Pier 39. The rest of the narration will be summarized pictorially..

No trip to Pier 39 is complete with a stop at Krazy Kaps (a hat store)..

Jonathan is calm and cool (and pretty in pink), even though that crab is eating me!

A view of Alcatraz.. I think I could swim that if I HAD to..

Look at those cute little animals (and some sea lions, too)!

Beer in hand, I'm a little tipsy.. Jon's drunk on salt.. (hers is salt, too) but Cindy should be a Corona poster girl.. heh

Dinner at Joe's Crab Shack (not the best place, but their blue crab dip was yum!).. the plate in front of me actually belonged to Frances (I know I know.. I keep telling myself to only have "one serving"..)

Even though I got home at 11pm (which is about an hour and half earlier than usual), I was still beat. All in all, a good day filled with worship, the Word, some work, a lot of walking, and fun fellowship.
