Hiking Fun

My right butt muscle is sore. You probably didn't need to know that, though you may be wondering why. Except for the fact that you're probably smart enough to have read the title of this entry, so you really already know why I might be sore. Yesterday morning, Eileen, Harvard, Tae Jung and I drove out to a trail in Half Moon Bay and took a little hike. A 7 mile hike. That's longer than I've walked in years. It was really fun, though (check out the pictures below). Fortunately for us, the sun wasn't out a-blazin' for most of the time, so we didn't get too hot. But that has its disadvantages, too, because supposedly, there would be an ocean view at one of the clearings, but I think we missed out because of the low-lying cloud cover. None of us had been on this trail before, so we didn't really know our way. At one point, we kept going up higher and higher, which worried us because the trail we were taking was supposed to take us back to the same place we started, and it didn't really make sense for us to be up so high when we started off pretty low. The trail did end up taking us back, but only after we had gone the distance in making a lap around a small mountain. Afterwards, we had a healthy lunch at Subway and attempted to go to the beach. That failed because we didn't want to fork out the $4 for access to the beach (and besides, we were all very very tired). It felt good to have finished a decently long hike. We might go again and try another trail.. if you're interested in coming, just let me know! =)

Here are some pictures from our excursion:

Eileen looking out for the interest of the little guys.. (it's a banana slug)

We don't follow the directions on signs too well

Tae Jung's version of Stonehenge

Albert on the side of a tree.. how appropriate..

Harvard and I doin' our best to keep that log from sliding back down

Group picture (taken by the tree which held the camera in a very precarious position)

Harvard mimicking the smiley log.. or was it the other way around?

Tada.. we're done!
