Catcher in the Eye
Just watched a part of the Miss Universe Pageant 2003. The hosts claim that the winner will be crowned and "reign through all the universe." That was hilarious.. It's sad that they narrow it down from 71 contestants to just 15 in the first 10 minutes of the show. And what's worse is that I usually disagree with a lot of the judges' picks. (Side note: the music was provided by an all-female, Aussie electric string quartet named "Bond".. cool stuff!) All in all, there were a lot of attractive women from around the world, but none which I would consider beautiful, per se. Although it's a "beauty pageant," the emphasis is so heavy towards physical attributes (hence the evening gown and swimsuit competitions), but being beautiful has to be based on a person's personality, too. I guess that's hard to tell from watching them on TV. Besides, beauty is a very personal thing. Like they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Still looking for someone to catch my eyes.
