Occupational Hazard
We have two fairly new people (they started within the past month) at work these days: a guy who works downstairs in the animal facility and a girl who works upstairs in the lab. Apparently, both have been the target of some co-worker flirting. Not really a surprise, considering the guy is caucasian, tall, and according to my friend, pretty cute. And although the girl has a really long name that's hard to pronounce, she's fairly pretty and seems nice. I don't know about the girl, but the guy has a girlfriend. You'd think that would deter people, but it doesn't. Despite its casual nature, we were joking that flirting in the workplace could be considered sexual harassment. So, it's something to watch out for when you're at work, even if you're a guy. I, on the other hand, really have nothing to worry about. I neither give nor receive suggestive comments (it just ain't my style, and besides, the few girls my age at work really aren't my type). But I wonder, isn't it kinda flattering if a person is flirting with you (because they're showing interest, right)? I guess I'll find out if I ever enter the "danger zone."
