Spent the larger part of today at the photo studio place where my family was taking pictures for one of those family album thingies. Yep.. we had the various outfits, the funny poses, the interesting backgrounds.. it was the whole package deal. The package even included me wearing make-up and lip gloss. Make-up ain't cool. What a long and tiring experience. And the photographer guy kept lauging all weirdly (I think it was just to get us to smile, but it still sounded strange and a little creepy). And I get the sense that the pictures are gonna turn out kinda funny looking (like we won't look like ourselves)..but we'll see tomorrow when we go pick the poses we liked for the album. I remember seeing some people with these style pics at their places (i.e. Melody, JennHwang, Eileen, JennShao), which all looked very nice, although girls tend to look super white-skinned in these pictures.
After the photo session, we went to the tallest hotel in Kaohsiung, where we had dinner on the 75th floor at the Palace Club. The food was excellent. The teppanyaki-style (kinda like Benihana) setting was complemented by the flavorful meat and seafood dishes. My brother and I had the filet mignon and lobster tail. Soup was a seafood bisque, and the appetizer was a fried/steamed cod served with a shitake mushroom cap. To clean our palates between the appetizer and the main course, we were given mango flavored sorbet (Haagen-Daazs makes quality stuff..) Overall, I was quite pleased.. while I'm no connoisseur (unlike some people, *ahem* Chia.. why, I can't even spell the word), I could tell that the food was very good. Randomness was when the chef guy asked to take a picture with my sister at the end of the meal (just my sister, not the rest of us).
More traveling in the days to come include going to the East Coast, visiting Taipei, and taking a tour in Japan. I will post more on how those go later since I'm still wearing make-up, which is begging to be removed...
