Yesterday night, a bunch of people got together and surprised Chia for his birthday (it's not until Saturday, but he's gonna be in L.A. this weekend). We had dinner at the Hua Hin Thai Restaurant on the corner of Bancroft and Fulton. The food was pretty good, but I still think Thai House is better. John bought two cakes, thinking that one was not enough. Interesting, because one is usually too much, which proved to be the case last night as well. It was a yummy Japanese cheesecake, so it was light, creamy, and delicious..even the fruit on top didn't make me like it any less (Evert thought it was funny when I said that).
When we first got there, I ran into a girl whom I had taken a class and done a group project with. Saddest thing was when we started chatting a bit and her name just wouldn't come to me. Bear in mind, her real name is not very typical..it's Constance, but she goes by Connie. When I think of her, though, I usually think first of Constance, and then translate it to Connie. But I just couldn't seem to come up with the name Constance.. Eventually, it came back to me during the meal. I made sure to say, "Bye, CONNIE" to let her know that I remembered her name (because it might not have been apparent from our earlier conversation, which in reality, was the case..anyway..).
