How many calories do you consume everyday? The USDA's nutritional guidelines are generally based on the average person's diet including 2,000 calories. That's for an entire day. According to my calculations, I used to consume somewhere between 4,000-6,000 calories each day...that's 2-3 times the recommended amount!! I feel I have a strong life force..one very difficult to quell..which will allow me to live quite long..100+ years..but ironically, they have found that higher calorie diets have generally led to shorter lifespans. Granted, these studies were done in mice (and I'm no mouse), but the findings point to the risk factors associated with high caloric intake, which would be true for humans, as well. Check this article out. (While I don't know how much I trust a source which is self-proclaimed to be the "Life Extension Magazine," I've seen information along the same lines printed in other more reputable news sources.)
Hence, my recent dieting has a double-duty: 1) to help me burn some fat and now, 2) to help the long-lifespan-I-know-is-in-me-potential come to fruition.
