While topping off my fuel tank today, gas was like spilling out onto the left rear side of my car, over the tire, and all over the ground. If you're not familiar with the term, "topping off" refers to the action of filling up your tank some more, even after the automatic shut-off thing has clicked. That thing usually shuts off pretty early. There's probably some room left in there, and since I drive so much (I put on over 150 miles just today!), I want to maximize the amount of mileage I get before I have to make another trip to the station. Thus, I always top off. I just paid the price today, wasting about half a gallon (with gas prices these days, it's like I just dropped three quarters onto the ground and they disappeared, making it impossible for me to pick them up again).
